About Clay Maier CLINICS . . . . .

Clay's goal in teaching is to have his students gain confidence in the techniques by hands-on practice during the clinic. He uses clear, easy-to-understand exercises that are well grounded in the solid foundation of the Maier style training. This involves building a training relationship with your horse from the ground up. ---

Kindness, communication and consistency, matched with Clay's perspective on what the horse is thinking are the keystones to the Maier method.

What do Auditors get out of a Clay Maier Clinic?

Unlike many clinics, Clay's clinics are INCLUSIVE! -- He talks to the auditors and takes questions. As an auditor, you'll have the opportunity to learn from one of the world'd best-known horsemen. You'll listen. You'll ask questions. Clay will talk with you during the demonstrations, as well as breaks and lunches. In short, you'll get everything the participants bringing horses get, except the "hands on" experience.

Learn Long Reining with Clay Maier

Learn techniques to develop more sensitive hands. Find out how and why to teach lateral movements, lengthen stride or collection. Clay's long reining program takes both the horse and trainer through a series of easy to understand steps that build a solid foundation for almost any training goal. - Clay, along with most top trainers in many disciplines considers Long Reining an essential training tool to be returned to throughout the horse's life.

Not only will you and Clay both work with your horse at this clinic, you will also have the rare opportunity to get a better feel of the reins by long reining Clay's seasoned Friesan horses.

Call it long reining, long lining or ground driving. . . It's a universal training technique used since Roman times. -- Clay Maier is called --

"The leading authority on long-reining today."

You may be starting a young horse from the ground up and/or working toward a new goal with an older horse. Clay's clear and personable teaching style will enable you and your horses to progress at an easy pace that ensures results.
